The final chapter of Kinnemaniac’s monthly column, offering short reviews of every new film seen at the cinema during any given month. It’s hard to knock the size and scale of Christopher Nolan’s ambition, but for every step forward his space epic takes, it takes another two back.  The problem, as always, is that here’s a director whose overtly explained puzzle box narratives can only deliver one definition of the word ‘wonder’ – the gob-smacking spectacle without the capacity for ambiguity.  HIGHLIGHT:  Matthew McConaughey grounds Nolan’s attempts at emotional sincerity, especially in the moving sequence where the human implications of the theory of relativity.
