Competition Time; or, A Shameless Attempt To Generate Hits

August 5, 2010 by Simon Kinnear in Features with 0 Comments

I’ve hit 1000 tweets on The Social Media Website That Must Not Be Named… Well, OK, Twitter, but saying “tweets on Twitter” sounded rubbish.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, allied to the fact that a-few-but-not-enough of you are visiting this blog and I want more visitors, I’m giving away an (old) DVD copy of Jean-Luc Godard’s ground-breaking French classic, Breathless. Specifically, this early-Noughties edition:

Breathless 1960 Jean-Luc Godard Belmondo Seberg

To enter, you must answer (correctly) this two-part question:

Who is the gentleman who appears on the logo? And what film is the image taken from?

The winner will be chosen at random (specifically – names, paper, hat. You’ve probably seen something similar done before) from those who get both parts of the question right…or, failing that, one out of two. Given that hardly anybody reads this blog, you’ve got a decent chance if you know the answer.

If nobody gets it right, I’ll probably just pick the wrong answer that makes me laugh the most, so if you haven’t a clue you may as well try that tactic.

Sadly, due to postage and region encoding and other dull stuff like that, this is only eligible to entrants who live in the UK.

To enter, email me at by 5pm on Sunday 8th August. The winner will be notified as soon after as is humanly possible, ie when I’ve found a hat.
